Interpretation

Interpretation : The three modes of interpretation are: simultaneous interpretation, consecutive interpretation, and sight translation.

Simultaneous Interpreting

Conference interpretation is conveying a message spoken in one language into another on real-time basis. It is practised at international summits, professional seminars, and bilateral or multilateral meetings of heads of State and Government, minsters and professionals.

Qualified and experienced conference interpreters

Our Interpreters have complete mastery of their working languages, including an excellent command of their native language.

Simultaneous interpretation is recommended for conferences having more than 30 delegates.

Simultaneous interpretation is a type of real-time interpreting that happens without the involvement of the original speaker.

Simultaneous interpreters sit in a sound-proof booth and interpret in real-time; listeners hear the simultaneous translation via headphones.

Simultaneous interpreting is frequently used in high level international meetings such as multinational annual general meetings, international product launches and global sales presentations.

Simultaneous interpreting is highly skilled work, requiring many years of experience and subject matter expertise. Events that require simultaneous translation need careful planning and specialist equipment, and Infotranstech with its more than 30 years experience steps in to help you make the event a resounding success.

Specialist equipment is necessary for simultaneous translation

To operate to the best of their capacity, simultaneous interpreters require a soundproof booth within view of the speaker and a clear audio feed from the speaker to their headphones.

What we need to know to organise your simultaneous translation

Infotranstech has been organising simultaneous interpreters for the past 3 decades. We shall need the following details to help you organize a success event:

  • How many language pairs you will require. The number of booths you will need is determined by the number of language pairs.

  • The number of delegates attending your event. This will determine how many infrared receivers with headphones are required.

  • The layout of your venue. Common layouts include classroom style, theatre style and U-shaped tables.

  • Do you require public address (PA) system? PA systems are usually required with theatre layout and where there are over 30 delegates.

  • CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETING

In consecutive interpreting (CI), the interpreter speaks after the source-language speaker has finished speaking. The speech is divided into segments, and the interpreter sits or stands beside the source-language speaker, listening and taking notes as the speaker progresses through the message.

Infotranstech, with decades of experience in the field, provides you with the most qualified and skilled consecutive interpreters well-versed in the subject matter, in all the languages.

    Sight translation

Sight translation can be defined as the reading of a text by the interpreter from the source language into the target language, simultaneously, in a manner in which the content of the document can be easily understood by the audience.
